Koihime Musou: All’s well that ends well

Peace at last…

Review coming up soon, but first, let’s talk about the shock at the end about Liu Bei (Ryuubi) (Yes, I am following Impz of THAT’s procedure of writing the names in Chinese rather than in Japanese, if only because it makes things easier for me…).

Liu Bei first appears in episode 11 as the head of the volunteer army. While this would be true to the original Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it was quite a deviation from the Koihime game, which did NOT have a Liu Bei character like that. Imagine my shock when some ikky looking guy suddenly pops onto my fanservice anime and proceeds to become the love interest of the main heroine.

Obviously I’m not the only shocked one here…

So, once you cut out the unnecessary bits, the rest of the episode and part of the next one is mainly about Guan Yu following Liu Bei around and almost getting her first kiss stolen.

My lips are reserved for other girls!

So… Just what’s so wrong with this. Is it not refreshing to see a guy in this whole girl’s world anime? (Actually, no, let’s keep it an all yuri anime kthx…) Well, because there does exist an actual Liu Bei in the game by BaseSon. Well, admittedly not in the first game which the anime is based on, but yea, there really is a gender bended Liu Bei…

Will the real Liu Bei stand up please?

BAH! I was really hoping to see some yuri yuri rabu between Guan Yu and Liu Bei…

Oh well, when all’s said and done, be sure to go check out the new game from BaseSon, 真·恋姬无双. Here’s the link to the site…

In the meantime, for impz… You said you hated spoilt bratty princesses like Sun Shang Xiang yes? Well, this would probably be the best pic of her in the game to you then…

Hahaha, the joke’s on you now.
